While crime rates in Washington, D.C. have dropped to their lowest levels in over 20 years, crime remains a significant factor for most residents. As a result, a robust continuum of services for victims of crime including domestic violence and sexual assault providers, homicide response programs, mental health and legal service agencies, and organizations serving LGBTQ communities has grown to meet the needs of victims in our city. These providers serve men, women, and children in each of the 8 wards and are a critical link to the District's first responder system.
This Candidates Forum will provide an opportunity for Washington D.C.'s 2014 Mayoral Candidates to shed light on their plans to enhance and sustain services for the nearly 30,000 victims of crime annually in the District of Columbia.
8:45AM Registration – Light refreshments and coffee will be provided
